Yorkshire is a very diverse part of the United Kingdom, from the hills and dales of North & West Yorkshire, our beautiful coastline, renowned for the familiar seaside resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington to the vibrant, bustling, cosmopolitan cities of Sheffield, Bradford and Leeds.

The political map of Yorkshire is far from "true blue". We are represented by wonderful, hard working MP's in the North and East Yorkshire areas. We are working hard as a region to ensure we build on our previous success and "get out" our true vote at the next General Election.

We have many hard working Women's Committees who raise money for the party in order to finance election campaigns. As a Region we hold events throughout the year to reach out far and wide across the whole of the county. My name is Felicity Merriman, I have recently been elected as the Chairman of the Yorkshire Region Women's Committee, I am a member of the National Women's Organisation.

Last March I travelled to Washington DC with a delegation from the CWO to meet with Republican Women and members of the U.S. Government. This trip allowed us an insight into how they raised awareness amongst women voters in the United States.

I am Deputy Chairman of Don Valley Conservative Association and am an active member in local issues.

I look forward to my chairmanship with enthusiasm and hope to welcome existing and new members to any of our future activities.
